How to Receive Support

Welp. I've done it.

It took 42 years, but I've finally done it.

Broken a bone. ðŸĶī

I'll save you the trauma of pictures, but I am now the proud owner of a plate and EIGHT, count them, 8 screws in my wrist.

To say I took it badly is an understatement.

I do not do well with broken.

This independent woman does not do well relying on others.

The first thing my husband said was, "well I guess we'll see if I know what the hell is going on around here"! 😀

Ah, yes. The perpetual giver had to receive.

And it was HARD.

I felt helpless.

Especially with the nerve block they gave me before surgery… my paralyzed arm was flopping all over for 24 hours.

It was entertaining, for some of us.

But I digress. I think this was the universe's way of telling me to slow down.

Or more precisely, teaching me how to receive.

Receiving support and help when I needed it.

Sometimes when we give our all to those we love, we forget to give to ourselves.

And we definitely find ways to defer receiving back all that we give in return.

So I guess, lesson learned.

My husband can do dishes! 😂

In all seriousness, those around me know how much I do for them and they are more than happy to reciprocate, if I allow them.

Allowing and receiving. So hard.

But so beautiful.

And I'm grateful.
